The Movie Network offers personalized Web site

TORONTO – The Movie Network has redesigned its Web site to give users a personalized experience, allowing them to tailor the scheduling information and content based on their interests.

The site, themovienetwork.ca, allows visitors to register and create a personal profile so they can receive email or text message reminders when their favourite shows air. They will also receive recommendations of programs similar to their fave series or movies.

The personalized homepage also recommends and prioritizes The Movie Network’s multiplex channels—M, MMore, MExcess, MFun!, MFest, Mpix, Mescape, The Movie Network HD and MHD—so that the information on the channels or services is available immediately upon entering themovienetwork.ca. And, in regions where The Movie Network OnDemand is available, a link to the weekly updated schedule is provided.

A promotional window presents a rotating series of broadband videos and images featuring links to special events, content, micro-sites and promotions on the television service. This fall, the best highlights from Movie Entertainment, The Movie Network’s weekly entertainment show, will also be available for streaming.

The new site also gives viewers access to their “Movie Miles” account, the network’s rewards program, and benefits such as prizes, exclusive content, and gifts.

It’s all about branding, the network says. “Consumers today are faced with an overwhelming number of entertainment choices across multiple platforms. This makes it critical for broadcasters to create a strong online brand that provides current viewers and potential subscribers with the information they really want,” said Barbara Bailie, Director, Interactive, Astral Television Networks. “The new personalized home page on themovienetwork.ca delivers on this need by creating an excellent viewing companion to all the great programs The Movie Network has to offer.”
