TORONTO – The Movie Network is serving up two new comedy series from IFC for viewers’ bingeing pleasure.
Maron and The Birthday Boys will make their Canadian broadcast debut on The Movie Network on March 6 at 9:00 PM ET and 9:30 PM ET, respectively. Following the premiere, TMN will allow subscribers to binge on the entire season of both series on TMN GO and The Movie Network OnDemand.
Based on comedian Marc Maron’s life and his successful WTF podcast, each of Maron’s half-hour episodes chronicles his day-to-day struggle to maintain relationships other than the ones with his audience and his beloved trio of cats. Marc Maron is the creator, executive producer, and writer of Maron. TMN will air Season 2 of Maron later this year.
From executive producers Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad) and Ben Stiller (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), The Birthday Boys is a 30-minute sketch comedy series that draws from the collaboration between Odenkirk and The Birthday Boys, a L.A.-based comedy team of the same name. The series features both stand-alone and multi-act sketches that poke fun at real-life moments and cultural touchstones.
Maron and The Birthday Boys are part of an exclusive deal between Tricon Films & Television and Bell Media for IFC original programming.
