The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment brand to launch in Canada

The Hollywood Reporter announced last week its Women in Entertainment brand is expanding into Canada with the launch of a new event in May 2024, Women in Entertainment Canada.

The event will be “a first-of-its-kind summit that will bring together the Canadian industry across television, film, and music to celebrate and recognize the achievements of women who are driving the industry forward in their respective fields,” according to a press release.

The Hollywood Reporter will be releasing its first Canadian Women of Power List in conjunction with the summit, the release says.

The entertainment publication has partnered with Canadian industry event management agency Access Canada to produce the new event, which is set to launch on May 30, 2024 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Toronto.

“We are delighted to expand our groundbreaking Women in Entertainment franchise globally with Access Canada. Women in Entertainment has spotlighted the amazing achievements of dynamic leaders in this industry while also helping to develop the leaders of tomorrow with our one-of-kind mentorship program,” said Nekesa Mumbi Moody, co-editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter, in a statement. “Our partnership with Access Canada will celebrate the accomplishments of the women who set the entertainment agenda for Canada and beyond. We are excited for this wonderful inaugural event and look forward to building on this for years to come.”
