TORONTO – The Comedy Network is getting even funnier now that Jimmy Kimmel Live set to premiere exclusively in Canada on the channel this fall.
The late-night talk show, now in its 12th season, is set to follow The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, weeknights at 11:35 PM ET, in simulcast with ABC, beginning in September. The weeknight, late night talk show, is packed with hilarious, often viral, comedy bits, including regular segments such as ‘Celebrities Read Mean Tweets’ and features guests including celebrities, athletes, musicians, comedians and humorous human interest subjects. One such human interest story Kimmel continues to cover in great detail is the ongoing tribulations of Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
In a taped message presented at the CTV upfront Thursday, Kimmel humorously credited Mayor Ford for bringing him to Canada, and suggested to the audience of ad buyers they might be interested in purchasing advertising space on his body.
"Jimmy Kimmel's brand of cheeky humour is the perfect fit for Comedy's share-worthy, late-night lineup," said Catherine MacLeod, SVP specialty channels and Bell Media production, in the news release. "Adding Jimmy to our already hilarious roster truly makes Comedy the funniest place in town."
