TORONTO — TextMeAnywhere, a service launched last year by Toronto-based Unite Communications, announced today it is donating six months of its text-to-landline service to 1,000 small retailers across North America, in an effort to help the retail sector get back on its feet.
“By offering over $100,000 worth of service, we hope to help relieve some of the struggles businesses face on the road to recovery following setbacks brought on by Covid-19 and get the economy moving again,” reads a press release.
The TextMeAnywhere service turns any existing business landline into a textable number, without requiring any changes to existing phone services.
To qualify for the offer, the retailer must have less than 50 employees and be based in Canada or the U.S.
“After the six months, there is no obligation to continue with the service,” the release says.
To sign up, retailers can visit www.textmeanywhere.com, click on the “Subscribe” button and use the code “FCOVID”.
“TextMeAnywhere will cover the cost for the first 1,000 qualified retailers,” the release says.
