OTTAWA – Canadians love to text and that trend is showing no signs of slowing down. According to new data from the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, Canadians sent 78 billion text messages in 2011, up 40% from 56.4 billion messages sent in 2010. About 21 billion person-to-person text messages were sent in the fourth quarter of last year, including more than 7 billion in December alone, representing an average of approximately 227 million messages per day.
