TORONTO – TeraGo has established a fibre-optic core in Western Canada after acquiring fibre facilities in downtown Vancouver earlier this month.

The broadband services and colocation provider said that this fibre connects its new 7,000 square feet Vancouver data center facility with several buildings, ensuring secure broadband connectivity between customer locations and the data center.

TeraGo president and CEO Stewart Lyons said owning this data center-connected fibre gives TeraGo a “strong initial position in the strategic Vancouver market”.

“The Vancouver fibre core establishes direct connection with our existing customers to deliver the best possible service and positions us to sell competitively to new SMB and enterprise customers to whom we connect”, Lyons said in the news release.  “This purchase and our recent data center acquisition are strategic investments in TeraGo's future growth, offering us fibre optionality to ensure our customers the best connection for their business."
