TeraGo expands in B.C., acquires Vancouver data centre

TORONTO – TeraGo Inc. announced Thursday it has acquired a 7,000-square-foot data centre facility in downtown Vancouver, B.C.

The acquisition of the will provide TeraGo with the capability to service the co-location and disaster recovery needs of businesses through the B.C. Lower Mainland.

“TeraGo’s strategy is to build and strengthen our position as a leader in data center services as a complement to our broadband services; expanding our data center presence in Western Canada represents another significant step toward this objective,” TeraGo Network CEO and president Stewart Lyons said in a press release.

The expansion of TeraGo’s data center business in Western Canada follows the company’s acquisition of Data Centers Canada’s (DCC) 16,000-square-foot facility in May 2013 for approximately $9.5 million. The Vancouver facility will operate under the DCC brand.
