TORONTO – National network service provider TeraGo Inc. has announced two additions to the company’s board of directors. Richard Brekka and Jim Sanger were nominated and elected by Second Alpha Partners (formerly Dolphin Equity Partners), a private equity firm and TeraGo’s largest and founding shareholder.
Richard Brekka is a managing partner and co-founder of New York-based Second Alpha Partners. He has invested in growth-oriented technology companies for more than 20 years and currently serves on the boards of TouchCommerce, Sixth Sense Media, Silver Carrot and Appia Communications.
Prior to founding Second Alpha, Brekka was president, managing partner and founder of Dolphin Equity Partners, a New York-based venture firm and founding shareholder of TeraGo. Between 1998 and 2010, Dolphin raised two funds and invested in nearly three dozen portfolio companies. Brekka was a director of TeraGo from May 2007 to June 2012.
Jim Sanger is also a managing partner and co-founder of Second Alpha Partners. He is an author and frequent speaker on topics related to advanced technologies, business innovation and the evolution of venture capital investing and has spent more than 20 years as a venture capitalist, secondary investor, corporate advisor and technology executive. He serves on the board of Internet media company Silvercarrot.
Prior to Second Alpha, Sanger was a general partner at ABS Ventures, and previously was a managing director in Deutsche Bank’s DB Capital Venture Partners and Corporate Investments organizations. He also served as chief technology officer and director of technology investment for Deutsche Bank’s London-based corporate venturing group and held IT management positions at Deutsche Bank, Barclays Bank and Bell Atlantic (now Verizon Communications).
