VANCOUVER – More than 16,000 Telus employees, retirees and their friends and family are giving back with their hearts and hands and doing #actsofgood at more than 1,000 charitable and community activities during Telus Days of Giving from May 16 to June 14.

Most activities took place on Saturday, with volunteers coming together to serve breakfast to the homeless, build tactile books for blind children, and escort disabled adults to a community waterfront event.  Social art rallies were held in Vancouver and Toronto.

"Coming together as an organization to create positive change in the communities where we live, work and raise our families is an important part of who we are at Telus," said president and CEO Joe Natale, in the news release. "Thanks to the support of our team members and extended Telus family, our partners and our customers, we are making a positive, lasting impact in our communities, having supported more than 5,000 community and charitable organizations to date. As we celebrate 10 years of giving back, we are inspired to continue coming together to improve the lives of Canadians and our communities."

Held annually, Telus Days of Giving was launched in 2006 as the Telus National Day of Service. The inaugural event saw 6,000 volunteers dedicate their time to 700 activities that improved the circumstances of those in need in communities across the country.
