Telus takes over TV and Internet service on Haida Gwaii

HAIDA GWAII — Telus will become the sole provider of TV and Internet services on Haida Gwaii after the recent acquisition of a local service provider, according to a report in the Haida Gwaii Observer on Monday. Gwaii Communications announced on January 16 in an email to its customers that a deal with Telus was reached on December 31, 2019, and would see the Mascon brand of Telus, which oversees its cable operations, take over the local Internet and television service provider, the report says.
