TORONTO – Telus is once again teaming up with The Globe and Mail on a contest aimed at shining a spotlight on Canada's small business community and the challenges it faces.
The sixth annual Small Business Challenge wants to hear from entrepreneurs for a chance to win a grand prize of $100,000. From now until May 31, small businesses are invited to submit their biggest business challenge and explain how they would use $100,000 to help them overcome it. Five semi-finalists will pitch to a panel of successful entrepreneurs and small business experts in Toronto on June 29 and the winner will be announced on September 22.
"From creating jobs to generating economic growth, small businesses are doing big things for Canada," said Telus’ VP of small business solutions Suzanne Trusdale, in the news release. "Telus is passionate about supporting Canadian entrepreneurs and helping small businesses thrive. The Small Business Challenge helps businesses overcome their biggest hurdles and fast-tracks their growth, and year after year this contest is creating incredible Canadian small business success stories."
Last year, after receiving more than 3,300 entries, the judges selected AquaMobile to take home the $100,000 grand prize.
