TORONTO – Telus says Canadians should expect more from their telecom providers, and has launched a new platform to show that it’s putting its money where its mouth is.

Rolling out in two phases, the Expect More campaign first acknowledges consumers’ frustrations with the Canadian telecommunications industry, and then seeks to address those frustrations by demonstrating how Telus delivers more.

The campaign’s first TV spot, known as Scream, is airing now.  The Vancouver-based telco also pledged to initiate and participate in more real-time conversations with consumers.

Anne-Marie LaBerge, Telus’ VP of brand and marketing communications, said in a blog post that Expect More “…is more than just a marketing campaign. It’s a state of mind and it starts from within.”

“Let’s face it: people love to hate their telco. Canadians are frustrated and we get that. We’re the first to admit that we’re not perfect, and we believe Canadians have every right to expect more from their telco providers, including us”, LaBerge’s post continues.  “Expect More is our new platform inviting Canadians to expect more of their telcos while demonstrating how Telus stands apart from our competitors. Our belief is simple: when we expect more from ourselves, our customers can expect more from us.”
