Telus Quebec adds to executive ranks

MONTREAL – Telus Québec created four new vice-presidents positions this week.

Serge Leclerc has been hired as vice-president of business communications and community affairs and Christian Proulx as vice-president of human resources. Two directors from Telus were promoted, too: Gaétan Rousseau is now regional vice-president of consumer solutions delivery and Raymond Saoumah was appointed regional vice-president of engineering and operations for wireless.

“Telus has always strived to hire the most talented and high-performing candidates at a regional, national and international level, both internally and externally. With a top notch management team comprised of industry leaders, innovators and passionate individuals, Telus can continue its expansion in Quebec while building on its leadership position within the very competitive telecommunications market,” said Karen Radford, president of Telus Québec, in a release.

Leclerc, who was a partner at National Public Relations, is now responsible for internal communication strategies, public relations and community investments for Telus in Quebec. He will also be responsible for translation services across Canada. He has more than 20 years of experience in public relations.

Proulx will be responsible for all of Telus’ human resources activities in Quebec. He will oversee the recruitment, development and performance of Telus employees as well as diversity, respect, and well-being in the workplace. Before joining Telus, Proulx held numerous positions responsible for human resources in the fields of pharmaceuticals and the media, most recently with Shire Biochem. Christian brings 25 years of experience to Telus and has an extensive track record in change management, integration during mergers and acquisitions, organisational development, recruitment, and labour relations.

Based out of Rimouski, Rousseau will be responsible for operations in Quebec. One of his main responsibilities will be to promote Telus’ strategies, culture and image within the community, to regional decision makers, and to clients. Rousseau started his career at the former QuébecTel 27 years ago and has held numerous management positions as the head of operations in the Côte-Nord, Lower St-Laurence, Gaspé and centre of Quebec regions. He has also headed the team responsible for business partner solutions as well as consumer solutions delivery.

Saoumah will be responsible for Telus’ wireless networks in Quebec, the Maritimes, Ontario and Manitoba. His engineering background combined with the experience acquired in the wireless industry over the last 16 years will contribute to ongoing enhancements to Telus’ network performance and the implementation of new sites and services. He has been with Telus since 1997, when he initiated the design of the PCS and Mike digital wireless networks in Quebec, the Maritimes and Eastern Ontario.
