VANCOUVER – Telus has launched a new initiative designed to help its large business clients drive increased employee engagement, cultural transformation and improved financial performance.

Created in response to requests from external partners and customers, Telus Transformation Office offers learning and technology experts to consult and train businesses in five key areas: leadership and culture; digital readiness and connected learning; career and talent services; onboarding and induction; and flexible work styles. The training is completed through a series of half-day workshops or more intensive tailored consulting sessions, customized based on the client's specific needs. Telus business clients will be able to add this unique consulting option to their existing suite of Telus services, including telecommunications, collaboration, IT and security solutions.

"In today's competitive business environment, a strong organizational culture can be a company's most powerful and sustainable source of competitive advantage because it drives employee engagement, customer satisfaction and financial results," said Dan Pontefract, Chief Envisioner of Telus Transformation Office, in Wednesday’s press release.  "While there are a number of organizations that offer organizational consulting, we not only offer firsthand experience, having successfully progressed through our own transformation, but we also combine leadership consulting with technology to drive very compelling businesses results."

Between 2007 and 2014, Telus increased employee engagement from 53% to 83% – the highest score worldwide for a company of its size and workforce mix, according to global HR organization Aon Hewitt. Additionally, it recorded total shareholder return of 286% between early 2000 and March 2014, outpacing the number two incumbent by 110 percentage points. The company's customers first focus has resulted in Telus and Koodo both receiving best-in-class service ratings from Canadians on a national basis, and Leger Marketing ranked the Telus brand #1 in Canada for the combination of awareness and likeability.

The Telus Transformation Office was born after several business clients approached Telus to learn more about its transformation.  It ran three pilot programs with Loblaw Companies Limited, The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) and Cameco before officially launching.
