Telus launches Norton-powered online security plans for businesses

VANCOUVER – Telus on Monday announced it is now the official Canadian breach response provider for consumer cybersecurity brand Norton, delivering support to employees and customers of businesses affected by data breaches.

As part of the announcement, Telus is launching Telus Online Security powered by Norton, available in two premium plans for businesses — Guardian and Guardian Plus — which provide identity theft protection, credit monitoring and dark web monitoring.

“As cybercrime rates rise and the demand for solutions increases, Telus Online Security goes beyond standalone identity monitoring services in the market by helping businesses offer their employees and customers breach response and remediation plans that include tools like dark web monitoring, daily or monthly credit reports, dedicated identity restoration support and identity theft reimbursement coverage of up to $1 million for related expenses,” reads a Telus press release.

The launch of Telus’s Guardian and Guardian Plus plans comes as Telus and Norton extend their partnership for an additional three years, the release says.

It also marks an expansion of the breach response services already offered by Telus Business.

“As the fastest growing and most trusted security service in Canada, we are thrilled to expand our cybersecurity solutions for businesses and consumers as Norton’s exclusive breach response provider in Canada. We’re enabling organizations to effectively respond to data breaches in order to minimize the damage, including the risk of exposed data leading to identity theft,” said Dwayne Benefield, senior vice-president of connected home, entertainment and enablement at Telus, in the release.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with Norton as a global leader in cyber safety and working together to foster a more secure digital world for our customers and Canadians.”
