Telus launches Buy One, Give One campaign supporting youth in need for Black Friday

With Black Friday fast approaching, Telus announced Tuesday a new campaign aimed at transforming the annual shopping event into “a force for social good this holiday season” by replacing traditional Buy One, Get One deals with a Buy One, Give One promotion supporting youth in need.

“In a uniquely Canadian promotion, TELUS is flipping the script on Black Friday deals with a powerful initiative: For every new customer who purchases a phone between November 29 and December 1, TELUS will provide a free phone and plan to a youth aging out of foster care through our Mobility for Good program,” reads a Telus email announcing its Buy One Give One campaign.

Details of the promotion on Telus’s website say it applies to every new postpaid activation with a mobility device purchased on a two-year Telus Easy Payment plan between the specified dates, with Telus donating up to a maximum of 7,000 phones to individuals in need through its Mobility for Good program.

“As part of a network that cares for its communities, customers are helping bridge digital divides and create a friendlier, more sustainable future by providing pre-loved devices that might otherwise end up in landfills,” Telus’s media release says.

“The Buy One Give One offer is available by phone, online, and in-store at select locations. Whether shopping for yourself or a loved one, Canadians can purchase with purpose and enjoy the latest technology while making a meaningful difference in their communities and giving the vital gift of connection to someone who needs it most,” Telus says.
