Telus invests in mental health platform Unmind

Telus’s strategic investment arm Telus Global Ventures announced last week its participation as lead investor in workplace mental health platform Unmind’s recent US$35-million round of investment.

This funding will support London, U.K.-headquartered Unmind’s continued U.S. expansion, offering employees therapy, advanced wellbeing tools, science-backed content, and AI coaching in one seamless platform, according to an Unmind press release.

“Our investment in Unmind represents a strategic alignment with TELUS’ leading global vision for the future of workplace mental health,” said Terry Doyle, managing partner at Telus Global Ventures, in a statement. “Unmind’s product-led approach, combined with their innovative use of AI and data analytics, positions them perfectly to address the growing demand for comprehensive mental health solutions in the workplace.”

Unmind has raised US$82 million to date, and this new round of funding includes additional support from existing investors Project A, Felix Capital, and Sapphire Ventures.

Unmind’s platform is used by leading global brands, including Uber, Samsung, Disney, Standard Chartered, Diageo and British Airways, and supports more than 2.5 million employees worldwide, according to the company’s press release.
