Telus Health Virtual Care now being offered to small businesses at no cost

VANCOUVER – Telus Business announced today it is now offering Telus Health Virtual Care at no extra cost to its customers who have a small business smartphone plan as a way of supporting the well-being of the small business community.

“At the beginning of the pandemic, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business found that 45 per cent of business owners experienced psychological health issues due to the pandemic and 43 per cent were working significantly more hours than before,” a Telus press release says. “Two years later, business owners still continue to face these obstacles.”

Access to Telus Health’s app-based virtual healthcare service, which was first announced last spring, will give business owners as well as their employees and families the ability to “better prioritize their overall well-being and mitigate these risks,” the release says.

“Through the easy-to-use mobile app, business owners and their families can proactively take care of their health with access to services such as specialist referrals, consultations, prescription renewals, and lab requests. Equally important, they will also have access to mental health support through counselling to ensure employees and owners alike can get help for any challenges they may face.”

Through this initiative, Telus is providing its small business customers with a value of over $1,200* for a 10-employee business with a 24-month smartphone plan at no additional cost, according to the press release.

“Running a small business has become even more demanding, both physically and mentally, during the last two years,” said Navin Arora, executive vice-president of Telus and president of Telus business solutions, in the press release.

“We want to support Canada’s small business community by providing our customers, their employees, and families with a digital health service to conveniently access care where and when it’s needed,” he said.

“Small business owners are the heartbeat of our neighbourhoods. They remain dedicated to their work and to their teams even with the difficult challenges they face everyday, which is why we’re committed to bringing them the very best of our leadership in healthcare innovations to support their well-being at a time when they need it most.”
