Telus expands 5G in Montreal and Lethbridge


MONTREAL and LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Telus announced today it has expanded its 5G network in the Greater Montreal Area and Lethbridge, Alberta.

The Quebec expansion is part of Telus’s $90 million investment in infrastructure this year in Greater Montreal, including the regions of Lanaudière, Laurentides and Montérégie, according to a press release. Telus has committed to investing $9 billion in network infrastructure and operations in the province of Quebec through 2024.

The Lethbridge expansion is part of Telus’s $14.5 billion investment in infrastructure and operations in Alberta through 2024, says a separate press release.

Telus is using multiple vendors to expand its 5G network, including Samsung, Ericsson and Nokia. The company says its 5G network will cover 615 communities in Canada, including 157 in Quebec and 136 in Alberta, by the end of the year.
