VANCOUVER – Why channel surf, when you can channel swipe or tap? Telus has launched its Optik Smart Remote app that turns your iPhone or iPad into the “ultimate” TV control.
Optik Smart Remote enables customers to surf through all their content choices on their iPhone, iPad or iPod instead of the onscreen TV guide. The guide utilizes filters to display only what you’re looking to find and by linking your mobile device with your digital set top box, you can use swipes on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to change the channel.
The free app also enables you to track favourite shows or see what is most popular. You can also navigate the interactive program guide on your mobile device without interrupting a show and by opening up the show information panel you can access more program related information from sources like IMDB, Wikipedia and YouTube.
