VANCOUVER – Telus has invested $1.3 million to bring its 4G LTE network to Comox, Courtenay and Campbell River.
With this expansion, Telus now offers 4G LTE on Vancouver Island from Victoria through to Campbell River. Additional B.C. communities will be getting access to 4G in the coming months, as the carrier brings the technology to nearly 90% of the province’s population by the end of 2012.
“We are committed to offering you the best customer experience. A key part of that promise is bringing our 4G LTE service to Comox, Courtenay, Campbell River and numerous other B.C. communities,” said Ray Lawson, TELUS general manager for Vancouver Island. “With an LTE device our customers can enjoy the fastest wireless technology available in the world today – we are continuing to expand this new technology, community by community, so that by the end of the year nearly 90 per cent of B.C. residents are expected to have access. It’s an ambitious undertaking.”
Telus says the 4G LTE launch complements its Optik on the go that allows Optik TV subscribers to view a selection of TV On Demand shows and movies on their mobile devices, tablets and laptops anywhere they travel. Optik on the go offers TV On Demand shows and movies from 11 channels including Super Channel, Hollywood Suite, YTV, ABC Spark, Family Channel and Disney Jr. The content library will continue to grow throughout 2012 and beyond as new shows and movies are added.
