VANCOUVER – Teliphone Corp. announced three new executive appointments for its wholly owned subsidiary, Teliphone Navigata-Westel, on Monday.
Julie Van Baarsen has been appointed vice president of finance. She brings years of experience in public accounting and private enterprise, including her previously held positions of CFO, director of finance and controller with several public companies to this role, says the press release.
Nigel Bailey has been appointed vice president of governmental affairs. He brings over 30 years of senior management and corporate development experience in the technology and telecommunications sectors to this role. Prior to this appointment, Nigel had acted as the company’s vice president, government relations on a consulting basis for the past 13 years.
Eric Unrau has been appointed vice president of marketing and product management. He is a telecom industry veteran with a proven ability to commercialize innovative technologies, according to the company. At Teliphone, he is responsible for leading the national product and marketing efforts as well as leading the organization's massive CLEC expansion program. Prior to this appointment, he spent three years leading the company’s product and marketing team, and was responsible for establishing TNW as a CLEC in the Canadian market.
Founded in 1957 as BC Rail Telecom, Teliphone Navigata-Westel now has over 117 employees and over $43 million in annualized sales and is now one of the largest independent facilities-based competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC) in Canada.
