TORONTO – Newly refreshed Teletoon Retro will be free to subscribers of participating television service providers from February 13 to April 3, 2013. Throughout the period, subscribers can tune in to Teletoon Retro’s vault of classic cartoons and check out the network’s recently unveiled new look says the channel.
“Since its launch in 2007, Teletoon Retro has quickly grown into an immensely popular and far-reaching Canadian network, as evidenced by its impressive subscriber penetration of 8.5 million homes across the country,” said Trent Locke, Vice-President, Business Operations, Teletoon Canada Inc. “We’re very proud of Teletoon Retro’s new look and collection of timeless programming and we’re thrilled to share this with even more parents and kids through the seven-week national free preview.”
Parents, kids and cartoon enthusiasts will have the opportunity to sample some of Teletoon Retro’s hit programming including The Flintstones, The Smurfs, Scooby Doo and The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show, among other classics from decades gone by. During the free preview period, the channel will be airing special themed programming for Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter, as well as its weekly Retro Fun Flicks weekend movie block featuring titles including The Flintstones: I Yabba Dabba Do!, The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle and The Goonies.
