TORONTO – Corus Entertainment has named Athena Georgaklis as director of content for Teletoon, effective immediately.
For the past 17 years, Georgaklis, (pictured), has been an integral member of the Teletoon team, reads the company announcement. In her most recent role as manager of original production, she was responsible for supervising the development and production of original programming for Teletoon and Teletoon at Night in English and French.
In her new role, Georgaklis will oversee content development, acquisitions and production for Teletoon's English and French brands including Teletoon, Télétoon, Teletoon Retro, Télétoon Rétro, Teletoon at Night, Télétoon la Nuit and Cartoon Network, along with their respective multiplatform services. She will also manage the Teletoon original production teams in both Montreal and Toronto, with production executives Hugues Dufour (Montreal) and Brandon Lane (Toronto) reporting directly to her.
