TeleSense lets Canadians access healthcare from home

THORNHILL, Ont. — TeleSense Canada said today its telemedicine platform is available to Canadian consumers who may find themselves in need of access to healthcare services from their homes, since much of out population is participating in social distancing efforts to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.

In a news release issued Wednesday, TeleSense says its consumer platform (a $3500 kit) is designed with the capability to make an accurate diagnosis complete with vital signs, the platform includes five medical devices: a blood pressure unit, thermometer, pulse oximeter (SPO2), glucometer and scale, which allows physicians to analyze real-time comprehensive monitoring data during the virtual exam.

Patients communicate with their healthcare provider via video conferencing once they set up their clinic. The user-friendly video technology connects using the Internet, and the patient or physician can initiate an on-demand care session through the intuitive interface, making the experience effortless, says the news release.

The platform supports active trend analysis and provides test compliance alerts via TeleSense Care Central, email and text. The high-resolution touch screen keeps patients connected to their clinician 24/7, eliminating unnecessary travel and reducing intervention time, says the release.

The patient’s healthcare provider can integrate their electronic health records with TeleSense, further improving their ability to give the patient a comprehensive medical examination without requiring them to leave their home. The technology uses encryption to protect patients’ sensitive data. Healthcare providers also have the option to consult directly with a medical specialist if necessary.

Canadians can purchase the TeleSense Canada consumer platform online, which includes six free medical consultations, with the option to purchase additional monthly sessions.
