Telesat’s new bird operational three weeks after launch

OTTAWA – Telesat’s newly launched Telstar 12 Vantage satellite is now fully operational at 15 degrees West, the satellite operator announced Tuesday.Launched November 24 from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan, the bird is the first of a new generation of Telesat satellites with capacity optimized to serve the types of bandwidth intensive applications increasingly in demand by users, reads the news release.
