
OTTAWA – Telesat today launched its new mobile-friendly website which features an improved design and enhanced satellite fleet functionality using Google Earth. Telesat says it developed the new site based on input from customers and industry experts.
The company has also released a new mobile app available for Android and iOS devices. The app provides satellite coverage maps for Telesat's fleet that are searchable by region and satellite name, EIRP and G/T contours within the satellite coverage maps, information on key satellite parameters and contact information for Telesat's headquarters, regional offices and sales offices. It can be downloaded from Telesat’s website, or by going to iTunes or Google Play stores.
Telesat is now preparing to launch its new Anik G1 satellite in early 2013 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The multi-mission spacecraft that will be located at 107.30 West. It has an extended Ku-band payload for direct-to-home video services over Canada as well as new C-band and Ku-band capacity for Latin America. It will also be the first commercial satellite with substantial X-band coverage over the Pacific Ocean and the Americas for use by the Canadian government and its NATO allies
