TORONTO – Achilles Media Ltd. and Telefilm Canada are looking for digital content producers with compelling ideas to be part of Telefilm Launch Pad, a new workshop and pitch competition that will launch at nextMEDIA: The Future of Digital Content, Canada’s trade event for the digital content community.
The sister event to the Banff World Television Festival, nextMEDIA takes place June 8 – 10 at the Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff, Alberta.
Backed by $10,000 in development funding, Telefilm Launch Pad is an excellent opportunity for digital content producers to “pitch” their ideas before a live audience and jury composed of national and international media executives.
Modeled after the popular Banff World Television Festival “pitch” sessions, Telefilm Launch Pad is open to Canadian producers. Deadline for submissions is May 1st. Full details and submission forms are available from the nextMEDIA Website at http://www.futureofdigitalcontent.com.
“We are happy to have Telefilm Canada on board to help facilitate this program and provide digital content producers with yet another opportunity to learn, meet and do business,” says Mark Greenspan, Executive Producer of nextMEDIA.
Marty Avery, Chief Catalyst and founder of What If?, a business development strategy company based in Calgary, will lead the “pitch” workshop. Marty has led several business ventures from start-up to success, including two companies currently listed in Profit Magazine’s "Top 100" fastest-growing companies.
She is a featured consultant for Fortune’s Small Business Magazine and was a recent panelist on the United Nations’ World Summit Awards’ Canadian jury.
Delegates registering for the Banff World Television Festival will be able to take advantage of a special discount for both events when they choose to register for nextMEDIA.
