TUPPERVILLE, Ont. — As part of its ongoing investment to provide high-speed fibre-optic service across the municipality of Chatham-Kent, Ont., independent ISP TekSavvy Solutions announced today the launch of its fibre-to-the-home service in the community of Tupperville.
The fibre network project, which connects 96 homes and businesses in Tupperville to high-speed Internet, was partly funded via the Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) regional broadband program.
TekSavvy was awarded the contract and funding for the project in February 2021. The Tupperville FTTH project was one of three in Chatham-Kent awarded to TekSavvy by SWIFT at the time.
“TekSavvy is proud to deliver the latest fibre-based technology to Tupperville,” said Charlie Burns, chief technology officer at TekSavvy, in a press release. “Residents can access fast, reliable internet service with download speeds up to 1Gbps and unlimited usage — and all at a reasonable price.”
“SWIFT is proud to partner with TekSavvy on this very important project that will bring fibre-to-the-home connectivity to many more residents and businesses located within the community of Tupperville and rural areas outside of Dresden and Wallaceburg,” said Barry Field, executive director of SWIFT.
“Together, with the support of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, these strategic investments in broadband infrastructure will provide long-term positive benefits and we are pleased to see that high-speed internet service is now starting to roll-out within the project area,” said Field.
TekSavvy is currently offering a promotion that provides a $20 monthly bill credit for the first 12 months of service on its Fibre 1000 Unlimited package for new residential customers signing up for TekSavvy’s fibre Internet service.
