TORONTO — The new original two-part documentary special Bathsheba, which tells the true story behind James Wan’s supernatural horror film The Conjuring, will have its world broadcast premiere on specialty channel T+E on Monday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Blue Ant Media announced today.
The documentary chronicles the experiences of the Perron family whose farmhouse was allegedly haunted by a 19th-century ghost believed to be a witch named Bathsheba Sherman.
“As activity continues to be felt in the home today, paranormal investigator Erin Goodpipe, quelling her own fear, travels to the Rhode Island farmhouse to explore claims made in the Hollywood movie starring Vera Farmiga. Bathsheba sets the record straight on the Perron family’s true story versus the Hollywood happy ending and unearths archives of the world famous paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, who attempted to help them,” reads a Blue Ant Media press release.
“Anchored by first-hand accounts from the living Perron family members, Bathsheba sets out to separate fact from fiction, discovering the truth that lies beneath the blockbuster film,” the release says.
The documentary is a Blue Ant Media original commission produced by Toronto-based Cream Productions for T+E. Sunny Grewal is the series producer and director, Kate Harrison Karman is executive producer, Robin Bicknell is the consulting producer, and Francine Dibacco is co-producer. Blue Ant International oversees international licensing.
Bathsheba is premiering during T+E’s annual Creep Week event, which runs from Saturday, Oct. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 17.
