DRYDEN, ON – Tbaytel Fibre is now available to customers in the community of Dryden, releasing the first three service areas in early January as part of its 2019 phased delivery plan.

Since project plans for the expansion of Tbaytel’s lineup of wired services to Dryden were first announced last March, the company has built a modern fibre optic network and retrofitted a regional network centre to serve as headquarters for its local technicians and storage for network components.

With service now live for customers, Dryden is the second major market in northwestern Ontario to receive Tbaytel Fibre outside of Thunder Bay, in addition to other rural communities such as Fort William First Nation and the municipalities of Oliver-Paipoonge and Shuniah.

Customers in Dryden now have access to Tbaytel’s five-product telecommunications bundle – including mobility, landline phone, Internet, TV and security. The company is the only one offering such a five-product bundle in the region.

“Tbaytel is extremely proud to now be able to offer customers in Dryden Tbaytel Fibre, as well as all the benefits that come with having access to advanced technology like a fibre optic network,” said Tbaytel president and CEO Dan Topatigh, in the news release.  “A project of this magnitude always brings with it a unique set of challenges, but it also opens up so many growth opportunities for our region, so Tbaytel is incredibly grateful for the dedication and co-operation we received from our community partners on the project.”
