Target selects Glentel to provide range of mobile products and services


BURNABY, BC – U.S. retail giant Target says it has selected Glentel Inc., to offer a choice of network carriers and a variety of wireless devices to customers at the majority of Target locations set to open across Canada in 2013.

"We are proud to be selected by Target as the exclusive operator of its mobile communications products and services display fixtures at the majority of store locations across Canada," said Tom Skidmore, president and CEO, Glentel. "As Canada's largest independent multi-carrier mobile phone retailer, Glentel is well positioned and committed to delivering its premium wireless retail experience to Target's valued guests across Canada."

Under the agreement, Target Canada is licensing the operation of the mobile communication sales and services display fixtures within its stores to Glentel Inc. under the brand Target Mobile.

"Our goal is to bring the true Target brand shopping experience to Canada and this includes partnering with accomplished Canadian companies like Glentel to offer our guests the highest quality merchandise and exceptional service," said John Morioka, senior vice president, Merchandising, Target Canada.  "This agreement means that our guests will have access to superior mobile communication products at great value when shopping at our stores."

To date, Target has announced plans to open 125 stores across Canada starting in March/April 2013. In the near future, Target plans to announce additional store locations that will open starting in 2014 and beyond.
