TORONTO – Effective this month, Bell Sympatico High-Speed Ultra customers in Ontario and Quebec will see their Internet access speeds rise to up to 5 Mbps (megabits per second).
For its small business customers, the increase is up to 6 Mbps. There’s no additional charge ($50 a month for consumers).
Sending photos and downloading audio or video at home – or running mission critical applications at the office, Canadians are speed- and bandwidth-hungry, with an appetite that has yet to be sated. Telcos, cable companies and other ISPs are all working at increasing speeds and boosting bandwidth in anticipation for ever more network demands.
