Sympatico adds digital flyers aimed at young consumers


TORONTO – Bell Media’s Sympatico website is partnering with digital start-up Wishabi on the integration of digital flyers and online content for the portal.

Toronto-based Wishabi is powering Sympatico’s ‘Flyer of the Week’ section in an effort to use digital technology to encourage consumers aged 18 – 35 to interact with flyers.  The technology allows users to quickly discover the best deals, get reviews and ratings, and shop across merchants that include Rona, Sears, Staples and Toys R Us, all in one place. Users may use filters to search deals by discount amount or by flyer category.

“Sympatico.ca has the unique ability to showcase the best deals to Canadians using a content-oriented approach,” said Michele Ferrari, senior director of English portal content and business strategy, in the announcement.  “By combining Wishabi’s next generation digital flyer technology with our expertise in creating rich original content, we are engaging users unlike anywhere else.”
