EDMONTON – Super Channel has acquired new UK series National Treasure from all3media International.

Written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, This is England, The Fades, The Last Panthers) and directed by Marc Munden (The Devil’s Whore, The Crimson Petal and the White, Utopia), the four-part serial drama examines accusations of sexual misconduct against a fictional public figure and explores their impact on the accused and those most closely associated with him as he is brought to trial.

National Treasure will make its Canadian broadcast premiere on April 9 at 10:00 PM ET (SC1), and each episode will also be available to subscribers on Super Channel On Demand the day following its weekly linear broadcast.

Produced by The Forge Entertainment for Channel 4 in the UK, the series was the highest rated drama to premiere on the network and launched to rave reviews on Hulu in the U.S. earlier this month, according to Super Channel.

“We are so proud to be bringing another great series from all3media International to Canadian audiences,” said director of programming, international distributors and Canadian pre-sales, Melissa Kajpust, in the news release.  “National Treasure combines incredible writing and performances with a riveting story that could be plucked from recent headlines, to create a must-watch drama that our viewers are sure to find timely and thought provoking.”
