EDMONTON – Super Channel is inviting horror fans to dig in to an advance free preview of the premiere episode of its new original series Slasher.
The eight episode psychological thriller features an ensemble cast led by Katie McGrath, Brandon Jay McLaren, Steve Byers, Dean McDermott and Wendy Crewson. Developed and produced by Shaftesbury in association with Super Channel and Chiller, Slasher centers around a young woman (McGrath) who is confronted with a series of horrifying copycat murders based on the widely-known killings of her parents years ago.
Super Channel is offering a free sampling of the premiere episode for subscribers and non-subscribers alike. This free episode will also be available on participating cable and satellite providers' Free On Demand pages beginning March 25. Super Channel’s Canadian broadcast premiere of Slasher is scheduled for April 1 at 9:00 PM ET (SC4), and each episode will also be available on Super Channel On Demand the day following its initial broadcast.
In addition, Shaftesbury’s digital and technology arm Smokebomb Entertainment is set to immerse Slasher fans in a virtual reality experience, which will be available from the App Store and Google Play in Canada starting April 1, and for Oculus Rift later this spring. Set in the world of the series, the Slasher VR choose-your-own-adventure experience places the user in the creepy town of Waterbury as an undercover reporter investigating The Executioner’s horrific series of murders in immersive 360-degree virtual reality.
