Super Channel promotes Ball

EDMONTON — Super Channel announced Tuesday its media relations director, Kimberley Ball, has been promoted to executive director of communications and regional outreach.

The appointment was effective as of December 12, and Ball (pictured) continues to be based at the company’s Toronto office. Reporting to Super Channel president and CEO Don McDonald, she will be a member of the company’s executive team.

“As Super Channel continues to evolve and change in the new digital media world, we also needed to enhance and focus on a sound internal and external communication strategy as it pertains to our vision, mission, and corporate values,” McDonald said in the news release. “Kim’s skill and experience made her the obvious choice to lead this new strategic initiative for Super Channel. I am delighted to add Kim to our new executive team and look forward to the added value and perspective she will bring.”

In her new position, Ball will be responsible for the development of Super Channel’s communications strategy and manage all communications activities related to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. She will continue to oversee and manage the company’s industry outreach program and budget, with a focus on expanding Super Channel’s regional outreach initiatives, the release says. In addition, Ball will maintain her current responsibilities for all media relations and publicity related to Super Channel programming across its suite of four channels.

Ball initially joined Super Channel in June 2012 as publicity manager and was promoted to director of media relations and sponsorship in December 2016. Prior to joining Super Channel, she worked at Fox Incendo Television Distribution for more than a decade, where she was responsible for overseeing all post-sale marketing, publicity and promotional activity for 20th Century Fox’s slate of television properties licensed to broadcasters across Canada.
