EDMONTON – Super Channel has extended and broadened its agreement with Starz Worldwide Distribution, the global television licensing arm of Starz, to bring more Starz original series to Canadians.
Based on the classic horror film The Evil Dead, the new series Ash vs Evil Dead (pictured) will premiere October 31, while Flesh and Bone, an 8-episode limited series exploring the glamour and dysfunction of the ballet world, will premiere in November.
Starz anthology series The Girlfriend Experience, from Steven Soderbergh and inspired by his 2009 film of the same name, will premiere in early 2016, as will the Starz and BBC co-production of The Dresser, one of the great British plays about life in the theatre.
All programming will also be available on Super Channel On Demand.
“Super Channel continues to prove itself as the best place to find high quality, original premium pay television programming in Canada,” said Super Channel programming VP Sandy Perkins, in the news release. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be bringing these highly sought after new STARZ programs to our subscribers.”
