Super Channel announces second season of When Hope Calls

Super Channel announced Thursday that the second season of its “long-awaited” When Hope Calls started production this month and will premiere in the first quarter of 2025.

The spinoff sequel to Canadian author Janette Oke’s book and TV series When Calls the Heart is a family drama that tells the story of sisters who open an orphanage in 1916 in the western frontier town of Brookfield. “Caught between the traditions of cattle ranchers and the ambitions of a growing town on the cusp of change, they strive to find romance and happiness while overcoming the challenges of helping the children in their care,” a press release said.

The second season will see newcomers Cindy Busby as Nora, Christopher Russell as Constable, Mountie Michael Fletcher, and Nick Bateman as Wyatt. In the sequel, “viewers will follow the romance of Lillian and Mountie Gabriel, and meet new characters who are important for the orphanage and children, the sprawling farmlands, and of Brookfield. Plus, a new Constable from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Mountie Michael (Russell) comes to town.”

The show will air on Super Channel Heart & Home. Great American Family will air it in the United States.

The first season aired 10 episodes in 2019.
