TORONTO – Pairing documentaries and feature films, History Television launches its Fact & Film programming block Sunday May 29th at 8 p.m.
From Top Gun to Taxi Driver, History Television puts forward the facts and then offers the interpretations. Every Sunday night at 8 Fact & Film features a documentary that examines a world event or contemporary story and pairs it with a blockbuster film inspired by the same event. Fact & Film will launch with the network premiere of the documentary Protecting the President followed by the film In the Line of Fire.
With her unique insights and witty commentary, History on Film host Anne Medina will introduce each film and documentary.
“The idea of providing historical context for popular Hollywood films has resonated extremely well with our viewers in the past. This is an opportunity for us to enhance the traditional movie watching experience,” says Cindy Witten, vice-president of programming, History Television.
