Streaming overtakes video downloading, says study

NEW YORK – Streaming of longer form content such as movies or TV shows has overtaken video downloading in popularity in the US, according to a new survey conducted by Ipsos MediaCT. The study, called Motion, noted that nearly six in ten (57%) of U.S. Internet users 12 years of age and older have streamed video in the past 30 days, a 7% increase when compared to 2007 results.
