Stingray’s Canadian-made music app surpasses 2M downloads

MONTREAL - Stingray said Monday that its free Stingray Music mobile app has reached 2 million downloads, doubling its user base since the same time last year.Over the past 12 months, 33 million monthly visitors have spent an average of 9.2 hours a week listening to Stingray Music’s curated channels, up from five hours a week the previous year, and more than 60% of the downloads originated in Canada, the company said.The Stingray Music mobile app features over 2,000 channels in 100 genres, including 200 channels dedicated to Canadian music.
