Stingray steps up to keep local Sunday service on air

ST. JOHN’S — Stingray Radio is helping independent St. John’s radio station VOWR bring its regular 11 a.m. Sunday service to its listeners this weekend, after a lightning storm caused damage to VOWR’s transmission tower, according to a report today on VOCM.com, a radio network operated by Stingray in Newfoundland. While VOWR 800 AM works to get its station back up and running, Stingray’s New Country 930 AM station will carry the Sunday service, says the report. VOWR tweeted yesterday the station “and our thousands of loyal followers are very grateful to our new radio friends.”
