MONTREAL – Stingray Digital has added cable industry veteran Melani Griffith and Kerry Ball, former VP of International New Media Sales at NBC Universal, to the corporation. Stingray’s multi-platform music service has more than 75 million subscribers in 56 different countries.
Griffith joins Stingray Digital as VP Corporate Development, based in Montreal. In this capacity, she will be responsible for special projects, corporate strategy, long term planning and M&A activity.
A 17-year veteran of the cable industry, Griffith has worked across the spectrum of affiliate sales, content acquisition and advertising sales. Most recently, she was the SVP of Programming and Video Product Management at Insight Communications until it was acquired by Time Warner Cable. Prior to Insight, she ran the Eastern Division for Affiliate Sales at AMC Networks and was an account executive in advertising sales for Fox Cable Networks.
She began her career in Affiliate Sales at Discovery Networks and was later selected as 1 of 12 "Wonder Women" by Multichannel News; 1 of 10 "Leaders Under 35" by Electronic Media and 1 of the "Top 50 to Watch" by Cable World. She currently serves on the national board of Women in Cable and Telecommunication.
Ball becomes Stingray Digital’s VP Sales, Europe, based out of its London office. She will take on sales of the suite of Stingray’s products and services across Europe.
Prior to her eight years at NBC Universal, Ball was Director in Strategy and Business Development with a concentration on new and developing business models. She was responsible for developing and negotiating new media deals across EMEA covering digital ownership, rental and subscription across film and TV product. Ball has also worked within Disney and MGM in Strategy and International Television team in Los Angeles, in addition to being the lead consultant for five years in the Media and Entertainment Team at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. There she worked across the film, television and music sectors.
