As excitement around the FIFA World Cup continues to grip audiences, Stingray is attempting to unite global soccer fans with the launch of a new pop-up music channel dedicated to the world’s biggest sport.

Running through July 31, with launch dates varying by platform, Stingray Soccer Anthems features “the world’s most iconic stadium songs, global hits, and fan-fueled chants that define the spirit of the game.”

Tailored to local audiences, outside Canada and the U.S., the channel will be branded as Stingray Himnos del Fútbol in Mexico and Spain, and Stingray Hinos de futebol in Brazil.

Musical selections will span the EDM, Afrobeats, and Latin genres, including iconic soccer anthems like Shakira’s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” Ricky Martin’s “La Copa de la Vida,” and Queen’s “We Are The Champions,” as well as hits from artists like Nelly Furtado, Jelly Roll, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Pitbull.

The channel is available on LG Channels across North and South America (channel 103 in Canada, 112 in the U.S.), as well as Tivify in Spain. Expanding its reach in July, it will launch with leading TV partners like Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Videotron and Cogeco in Canada; Xfinity and AT&T in the U.S.; and izzi and Totalplay in Latin America, among others. It will also be available to passengers on Air Canada flights worldwide, in addition to the Stingray Music mobile app and web player.

“We are thrilled to bring the ultimate soundtrack of the summer to soccer fans,” said David Purdy, Stingray’s chief revenue officer. “Music and sports share a universal language that unites people globally. With this multi-platform launch, we are delivering an immersive, high-energy experience that perfectly complements the excitement of this summer’s tournaments.”
