MONTREAL – Stingray Digital has signed a multi-year renewal with the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance (CCSA) for the distribution of its Galaxie music channels, Galaxie’s upcoming Ambiance Channel as well as for the Galaxie music application for advanced set-tops.

As part of this expanded agreement, many CCSA member companies will be able to apply for a Galaxie server to be installed at their headends, allowing them to customize the Galaxie channel line-up to best suit the tastes of their customers. Additional benefits of the local server-based delivery for the Galaxie channels include the on-screen imagery that displays the album cover of the currently-playing song as well as information on the next song to be played on each channel.  The soon-to-be-launched Galaxie Ambience channel, showing beautiful nature and ambient videos, is also included as part of this renewal, for any member company who installs the local server.

"Our team’s focus on providing Canadians with great music content and innovative products is once again demonstrated by CCSA’s renewed confidence in our solutions," said Stingray president and CEO, Eric Boyko, in the announcement.  "This renewed contract is a testament to the value we bring to TV service providers and to their subscribers in Canada and abroad.”

“This deal provides CCSA members a great opportunity to expand their digital music catalogue with niche programming, enhanced features and an innovative delivery platform,” added Alyson Townsend, CCSA president and CEO.  “The commitment by Stingray Digital to deliver superior quality services speaks well of their dedication to independent cable operators and their subscribers.”
