MONTREAL – Stingray Digital Group has wrapped up the acquisition of three of the four music channels that it is buying from Bell Media.
Effective immediately, MuchVibe, MuchLoud, and Juicebox have been rebranded as Stingray Vibe, Stingray Loud and Stingray Juicebox, respectively (see logos to right, and below. Click to enlarge). The deal for the fourth channel, MuchRetro, is expected to follow shortly, the company said Monday.
“We are very pleased to complete this highly synergistic acquisition,” said Stingray president, co-founder and CEO Eric Boyko, in the news release. “We believe that the addition of Stingray Vibe, Stingray Loud, and Stingray Juicebox to our product portfolio will expand our client base and confirm our position as an industry leader.”
Stingray announced its plan to buy and operate the specialty music channels in June, but did not disclose financial terms of the deal. The four channels together made $2.4M in revenue in the 2014 broadcast year, according to CRTC filings. Bell turned in the licenses for the three channels and the CRTC officially revoked them earlier this month. The companies are just waiting on the same approval for MuchRetro.
The company plans to roll out these new video channels, internationally, too, as it has with its entire music portfolio.
