Stingray, CCSA sign deal

QUISPAMSIS and MONTREAL – Karaoke Channel owner and Galaxie Music service distributor Stingray Digital has signed an affiliate agreement with the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance.

The deal allows for the continued distribution of the Galaxie audio service (which the company is negotiating to purchase from the CBC) and the distribution of the Karaoke Channel as a free on-demand service for VOD enabled MSOs. Stingray is also the Platinum sponsor of the Connect conference.

“We are very happy to be able to continue to serve CCSA member companies with the Galaxie music service. The 40 channel package available to CCSA members includes several channels in each of the main music genres. Digital cable customers have come to love the convenience and quality of Galaxie as their preferred source of music." said Eric Boyko, president of Stingray Digital, in a press release.

“Stingray is an important partner of CCSA’s,” added the Alliance’s president and CEO Alyson Townsend. “The Karaoke Channel on Demand service will be a great new content addition to the growing on demand platforms of our member’s digital cable services”, added Alyson Townsend, President and CEO of CCSA.
