Starlink service now available in more hard-to-reach Canadian communities
SPACEX ANNOUNCED LAST Friday its Starlink satellite service is now available in more communities across Alaska, Canada and the polar region. These are communities “that previously didn’t have access to reliable, high-speed, low-latency internet,” a tweet from the company (owned by Elon Musk) reads. A map on the company’s website details which communities currently have access around the world (this includes Arctic Bay, Victoria Island and Kugaaruk in the north). Communities including Yellowknife and Whitehorse are expected to have Starlink service starting in the first quarter of 2023, according to the map.
